ROTTERDAM – Albert J. Farrell, 81, of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2024 at his residence. He was born December 23, 1942 in Redford, NY and was the son of the late Alvina Provost and Michael Farrell.
After graduating from high school, Albert enlisted in the Navy and served in Pensacola, Florida. Al was employed at General Electric Company in Schenectady as an Inventory Control Foreman. He was an avid bowler in the Schenectady leagues for many years.
In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his siters, Marian Collins, Helen Burleigh, Nora Waldron, Doris Gardner and his brother John Farrell.
The family would like to offer their special thanks to caregivers, Chondra, Kay and Gwen from Homestead. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Community Hospice especially Abbigail, Kathy, Jaimie, Alan, Gretchen and Peter who made it possible for Al to remain at home.
Al is survived by his wife, Judith Farrell; his sons Jeff (Brenda) Farrell and Michael Farrell; his stepdaughters, Eileen Gilmartin and Amy Lamitie and his stepson, Eric Baumes. He is the grandfather of Kylie Shea Potti and Shelby Matlock. Al is the brother of James Farrell and Mitch (Gloria) Farrell.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 7 at 11:00 am at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church, Rotterdam. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 to 11 am at the Church, prior to Mass. Interment will be in Redford, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J.
