David A. "Andy" Chainyk Ii

November 15, 1964 — January 11, 2022

Bethlehem - David A. “Andy” Chainyk, II, 57, passed away Tuesday January 11, 2022 at his home.

Born on November 15, 1964 in Albany, NY, he was the son of David A. and Jacqueline L. (Klein) Chainyk.

He was a lifelong resident of Guilderland and a 1982 graduate of Guilderland High School.

Andy was the owner and operator of D.A. Chainyk Construction Services, LLC. Starting at a young age, he learned the building trades from working alongside his father. Andy was known for his detailed and quality craftsmanship. For the past several years, he was assisted by his companion Sarah McCarley.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, vacations to the beach, and enjoyed the company of his canine companions Riley and Annabelle. He loved spending time with his family and was so proud to be a new “Papa.” He was typically the “life of the party” and knew how to make everyone laugh-his sense of humor and stories will surely be missed.

He is survived by his parents David and Jacqueline Chainyk of North Bethlehem, a daughter McKenzie Chainyk-Driggers and husband Jonathan Driggers and a grandson Elliot Driggers all of Guilderland; a sister Davia (Michael) LaChapelle of North Bethlehem and a brother Corey Chainyk and his Significant Other Elizabeth Diamantatos of Guilderland; nieces & nephews: Dustin, Casey (Lianna), & Cody LaChapelle, and Cassidy & Lucas Chainyk; several great nieces & great nephews.

A special thank you to the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff that have been involved in his care.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, January 17 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave, Colonie. Funeral services will be private and burial will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
