Daniel T. Flynn

April 25, 1990 — September 27, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Daniel T. Flynn announce his peaceful passing on Monday, September 27, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital, following a brief battle with COVID-19 at the age of 31.

Daniel grew up in Voorheesville. He was a 2008 graduate of Clayton A. Bouton High School and a 2012 graduate of Hartwick College.  He subsequently earned his Master’s Degree from Utica College. Known as a gentle “tough guy”, he earned the titles of Powerlifting Champion and Best Overall Athlete. In high school and in college, he was a recognized football player, playing defensive tackle and offensive guard. While at Hartwick, he was recognized as a Division 3 National Player of the Week.

He was employed as a Senior Auditor for the New York State Education Department.

Danny will forever be remembered as a kind and generous soul as well as having a brilliant comedic wit.  He could get the whole room laughing. He loved animals and enjoyed the company of his dogs Blitz and Marcy. Cooking was a never ending passion; especially anything that was spicy. He was an avid sports fan and history buff.  He enjoyed playing video games and poker as well as stock trading and reading the news to stay current on events in the world.

He was an active member and served many roles in the New Scotland Historical Association.   As Chairperson of the Electronic Communication Committee, he updated the website and its capabilities improving the Association’s online presence.

Danny will be dearly missed by his parents Thomas and Theresa Flynn and his brother Robert Flynn all of Voorheesville; his longtime girlfriend Jamie Vitillo and her daughter Lexi, his aunt Debbie Korzyk, and uncles Michael Korzyk (Darlene Bellicose) and Bob Loveridge (Joann Beach) as well as many cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 1:00pm to 3:30pm followed by a prayer service at 3:30pm on Saturday, October 2, at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. A Celebration of Danny’s Life gathering will follow at the Fuller Road Firehouse Banquet Hall, 1342 Central Avenue, Colonie, beginning at 4pm.  Please join us for food and beverages - All of you that knew Danny know he would want you to celebrate his life and raise your glass to him.  Let’s gather to hear and share some of our favorite memories, our stories, to laugh and cry and to remember this wonderful young man who will be greatly missed.
